CSG continues to champion the next generation of cyber experts

We’re proud to share that Eve Oliver, our marketing manager, has officially joined the CyberFirst Wales Ambassador Network, a vital initiative led by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to inspire and support the next generation of cyber security professionals.
“Eve has already been busy supporting activities in schools and we can’t wait to see her again at our #CyberPathways event in December, promoting CSG and their early careers opportunities to over 400 students!” – CyberFirst.
CyberFirst’s core mission is to ensure that young people from all backgrounds have the opportunity to explore and thrive in cyber security and IT careers. Through outreach, education and hands-on experiences, CyberFirst helps students develop the skills and confidence needed to protect our digital world.
As a CyberFirst Ambassador, Eve joins a network of passionate professionals who volunteer their time to:
- Engage with schools and colleges to raise awareness of cyber careers
- Deliver inspiring talks and workshops that demystify cyber security
- Promote diversity and inclusion in tech and cyber roles
- Bridge the gap between industry and education, helping students see real-world career paths
CyberFirst Ambassadors play a vital role in bridging the gap between education and industry, helping young people understand the exciting and meaningful careers available in cybersecurity. They champion the CyberFirst mission:
To inspire and nurture diverse talent into the UK’s cyber workforce, ensuring the country remains resilient in the face of evolving digital threats.
At CSG, we believe that cyber security is not just an IT responsibility and Eve’s involvement in CyberFirst strengthens our commitment to supporting the development of future cyber experts. Her work as an ambassador not only enhances our outreach efforts but also reinforces our values of innovation, education and community support.
CSG are proud to be part of an initiative that’s shaping the future of cyber security across all industries.
Recent ambassador work
CSG recently went out to visit Pencoed Comprehensive and Porthcawl Comprehensive to deliver talks on our apprenticeship scheme and how it can open doors to careers in technology, AI and cyber security!
We were also joined by Joanne Ralph, the CyberFirst lead for the South West Wales area, as part of Technocamps and Swansea University / Prifysgol Abertawe.

This partnership also reflects our shared values. At CSG, we stand by being:
- Trustworthy: delivering secure, dependable IT solutions.
- Professional: maintaining high standards in everything we do.
- Reliable: being a consistent and committed partner to our clients and community.
CyberFirst’s values align closely with ours:
- Inspiration: sparking interest in cyber security from a young age.
- Inclusivity: ensuring opportunities are open to all, regardless of background.
- Collaboration: working together across education, industry and government.
- Excellence: striving for the highest standards in cyber education and careers.
At CSG, we’ve been committed to helping people launch careers in IT and cyber security since we first opened our doors in 1985. Our apprenticeship scheme is a cornerstone of that commitment, providing hands-on experience, mentorship and real-world skills to those eager to enter the tech industry.
Richard Saunders (pictured above), Service Desk Manager at CSG, shares:
“Our apprenticeship programme is more than just a pathway into IT, it’s a vital part of our company culture. We believe in investing in people and apprenticeships allow us to nurture talent, share knowledge and build a workforce that’s skilled, passionate and ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”
Apprenticeships are essential for the future of cybersecurity and IT. They offer accessible routes into tech careers, especially for young people who may not follow traditional academic paths.
As a CyberFirst industry partner, we’re proud to extend this impact even further. CyberFirst’s mission to inspire, include, collaborate, and strive for excellence aligns perfectly with our own. Through this partnership, we’re helping:
- Students gain insight into cyber careers and build confidence in their abilities.
- Teachers access resources and guidance to bring cybersecurity into the classroom.
- Communities across Wales benefit from a stronger, more resilient digital workforce.
This initiative is not just preparing individuals for jobs, but helping shape the future of cyber security in Wales and beyond.
