Bro Myrddin’s 25 offices adopt the private cloud. The charitable not-for-profit Housing Association, led by a Board of up to 10 members, it provides housing across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. It has built and maintained over 800 homes and provides a range of additional services to its residents and other stakeholders. Bro Myrddin were in need of a solution to enhance the existing IT solution. Helpdesk services were required for the staff across 25 offices, as well as proactive remote monitoring and managed service provisions to ensure the health of the IT systems.
Proposals and recommendations
Following an in-depth review of the entire IT infrastructure, CSG recommended a private cloud infrastructure that would be located within a tier 3 data centre. They needed to be moved from their legacy system to something more suitable for the charity. Our engineers also recommened new security services to prevent cyber attacks.
The onboarding
Bro Myrddin Housing Association were migrated from a legacy system to a MS Remote Desktop Services farm. The core IT systems were then installed and protected by Veeam Backup and Replication. Security services were deployed through a Sophos XG appliance and Sophos Central Security Suite. This solution provides two factor authentication, protection against malware, ransomware and explopit kit attacks through Sophos Intercept X.
Measuring results
The solution has allowed Bro Myrddin to take advantage of quicker timeframes to deploy additional systems across the board. It also provides them with the knowledge that the internal systems are robust enough to cope with a failure. With peace of mind that the IT systems are protected by industry technology, Bro Myrddin are in safe hands.
