What is fibre broadband?
It is a type of broadband that uses fibre optic cables to increase the speed of your connection. You may have heard it referred to as ‘super-fast broadband’ because it is quicker than older network options. There are two types of fibre connections: Fibre to the Cabinet and Fibre to the Premises. Here at CSG we offer Fibre to the Cabinet.
Fibre to the Cabinet explained
The process of installing FTTC involves us running cables from the distribution point to the cabinets found on the street. Once this is done, it is then connected to the phone line to provide broadband. The distance from the property to the street side cabinet is normally no more than a few hundred metres.
