Introducing Microsoft Copilot
Many businesses continue to deploy artificial intelligence technologies within their operations, to reap tangible benefits for their teams, and customers whilst projecting sustainable business growth.
Business process efficiency tends to top the benefits cited by enterprise users but the value business leaders seek to gain from AI shifts depending on a company’s maturity in using AI technologies, according to Deloitte’s latest “State of AI in the Enterprise” report.
Whilst many are looking to make savings with AI, Microsoft has recently made changes to their 365 offerings, harnessing all of the benefits of AI to allow humans to be their creative best!
Introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot: your copilot for work
Harnessing the power of AI, Microsoft 365 Copilot turns your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet!
“Today marks the next major step in the evolution of how we interact with computing, which will fundamentally change the way we work and unlock a new wave of productivity growth,” said Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO, Microsoft
What is it?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is artificial intelligence (AI) that combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data within the Microsoft Graph and 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet.
One of the aims of Copilot is to make the user’s life easier, allowing them to focus on high-rewarding, quality work rather than bulky, time-consuming tasks that we all find to take up too much of the day.
‘Copilot lightens the load. From summarising long email threads to quickly drafting suggested replies.’
What can it do?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is seamlessly integrated into the apps people use every day, helping them stay in a flow state of work and freeing them to focus more on the task at hand and less on the busy work.
Microsoft 365 Copilot aims to transform the way you work in three ways:
Unleash creativity
Copilot in Word, you can jump-start your creative process and never start with a blank slate again. This will save you hours in writing, sourcing, and editing time. As the author, you’re always in control, driving your unique ideas forward, while Copilot provides suggestions to shorten, rewrite or give feedback.
Copilot in PowerPoint, effortlessly craft stunning presentations with ease by simply providing a prompt. Our tool will gather relevant content from your archive, whether it’s from last week or last year, to help you create a seamless presentation.
Copilot in Excel, you can analyse trends and create professional-looking data visualisations in seconds.
Unlock productivity.
Our goal is to concentrate on the 20% of tasks that are truly significant and minimise the 80% that takes up a lot of our time and create unnecessary obstacles.
Copilot in Outlook helps you clear your inbox in minutes, not hours.
Copilot in Teams during a meeting, this tool can concisely summarise important discussion points, including identifying speakers, highlighting areas of agreement and disagreement, and proposing actionable next steps, all in real-time.
Copilot in Power Platform, anyone can automate repetitive tasks, create chatbots and go from idea to working app in minutes.

‘Copilot will fundamentally change how people work with AI and how AI works with people. As with any new pattern of work, there’s a learning curve — but those who embrace this new way of working will quickly gain an edge.’
With these new developments, Microsoft remains committed to maintaining its levels of security and commitment to privacy within 365.
‘Microsoft has built Microsoft 365 Copilot with its existing commitments to data security and privacy in the enterprise, grounded in AI principles and Responsible AI Standard and decades of research. Copilot’s large language models are not trained on customer content or on individual prompts. Microsoft 365 Copilot will deliver enterprise-ready AI at scale.’
Copilot is fully integrated with Microsoft 365 and automatically adopts all of your company’s security, compliance, and privacy policies and procedures. With two-factor authentication, compliance boundaries, privacy protections, and other features, Copilot is designed to provide you with an AI solution you can trust.
Microsoft aims to roll out Copilot in the coming months, and they have also stated that there will be more info surrounding pricing and licensing in the near future.
Perhaps one of the most interesting and exciting features to come to Copilot is their new feature, Business Chat.
Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), Business Chat is a chatbot experience that works across your Microsoft 365 apps and your data. Including your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings and contacts — to do things you’ve never been able to do before. You can give it natural language prompts like “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” and it will generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails and chat threads.
