Over the next few months, we will be showcasing some of the work we have carried out for our customers. Take a look at what we have done for Nottage Joinery!

The Client

Nottage Joinery are established joinery manufacturer and timber merchants delivering throughout South Wales, Bridgend, Cardiff, Swansea and Newport. With over 50 years’ experience, customers can buy timber, decking, railway sleepers along with bespoke joinery products and furniture.

Our Recommendations

Following an audit, our Solutions Architect (SA) found they were running from legacy equipment, network speeds and performance were poor and the systems were holding them back from day-to-day activities. There was also no interaction with third party vendors. The account manager, Dameon, and Director of Nottage Joinery, Matthew, liaised to discuss budget and what was required from the system.

What We Did

The Solutions Architect recommended the existing, legacy server be replaced with a well provisioned, HPE ML350 Server with Windows Server 2019 and a new UPS to ensure a graceful shutdown in the event of a power outage/surge.

Acting as a host, Hyper-V technology will be utilised to virtualise the environment and VMs created to host their new Domain Controller, File & Print and Application Server.

In addition to their core infrastructure, Windows 7 units are to be replaced with Windows 10 units and the legacy 10/100 switching equipment is to be replaced by a Managed, Gigabit switch that’ll offer improved transfer speeds within the network.

Since CSG managed the anti-virus, Office 365, anti-spam and automated backup and disaster recovery, all of this was transferred to the new endpoints.

The Result

We have seen improved account management through regular visits with our dedicated account manager. Response times have drastically improved and we know that the team at CSG are always at the end of line if we have any issues.

“As a small business, we were mindful about the costs of replacing our server, but after the evaluation of various cloud and on-site solutions with Dameon, we decided to stick with an on-site solution. We have noticed a huge improvement in performance and also in staff efficiency as well.

“The service we have received from the team at CSG, especially their third line engineer, Lee, has been great. Everyone we have been in touch with has been knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing has been too much trouble. We would highly recommend CSG.” Matthew Gibbs-Murray, Nottage Joinery Ltd.

Great work from all of the team!
