TARIAN – Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU)

CSG were invited to the South Wales Cyber Security seminar in partnership with TARIAN - RCCU the cyber crime division of South Wales Police.

Cyber related exposures are one of the biggest current day threats to businesses and organisations of any size throughout the UK. Any organisation, whose activities involve the use of email, has a website, or holds client data (electronically) could potentailly be at risk!

The Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU) was added to the Tarian family early 2014.

The RCCU tackles those responsible for the most serious incidents of:

• Computer intrusion
• Distribution of malicious code
• Denial of service attack

The Unit, working closely with the National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU), provides a national investigative response to the most serious incidents of cyber-crime.

It is also working collaboratively with Welsh Government with the aim of developing a ‘secure digital nation’. Current information available suggests that 80% of Cyber crime is preventable and it is our intention through partnership engagement and education to develop Wales as a safe place to live, visit and do business.
