What other customers are using Azure?

Bevan Buckland LLP required an update to their existing onsite system and due to the changes in remote working, the firm required an IT system that had security and continuity as integral components.

CSG undertook a review of the systems through deployment of various industry leading sizing tools and met with stakeholders to discuss the requirements long term. A solution was designed that would migrate server workloads into Microsoft Azure and provide a virtual desktop service through Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). The migration provides best in class cyber security services, remove single points of failure and help Bevan & Buckland to have improved business continuity.

“CSG recommended we migrate our IT systems into MS Azure to take advantage of latest technologies and cyber security systems. We have recently had a fire in our server room and it didn’t impact the business in anyway. AVD enables our staff to work smart and access all the important apps and data wherever they are based.” – Ian Thomas, IT Manager, of Bevan Buckland LLP.

Is Azure only for Windows Apps and Services?

No – Azure supports open source technologies, so you can use the tools and technologies that you prefer and still receive the benefits. Run virtually any application using your data source, with your operating system, on your device. Azure provides you to have choices and be in control of your cloud platform.

Will Azure work for my industry?

Azure provides solutions for all industries, through proven combinations of cloud products and services. Address your industry-specific business challenges today, and prepare for the future by innovating with Azure solutions.

  • Healthcare: Develop solutions for proactive, personalised healthcare
  • Financial services: Better serve customers, empower employees and optimise risk management
  • Government: Build secure solutions to better serve and protect your citizens

How does Azure compare to other clouds?

Azure is the only consistent hybrid cloud, delivers unparalleled developer productivity, provides comprehensive, multilayered security, including the largest compliance coverage of any cloud provider. You will pay less for Azure, AWS is five times more expensive than Azure for Windows Server and SQL Server.

Cloud in action

“Azure Arc supports us by freeing up our time form the day-to-day activities of the technical team and focusing on the customer value-add activities. It helps us to make sure that services are always on at the right time for the customer.” – Scott Clennell, Platform and Infrastructure Services Manager at Greggs.

Situation

Greggs had a complicated and disparate IT landscape to manage. Getting its arms around a mix of on-premises servers and applications would have been hard enough, but the company also was embarking on its cloud journey. It needed a way to understand and manage everything.

Solution

The company began with Log Analytics Workspace Insights, using the mapping feature to understand the status of its 500 Azure Arc-enabled servers. It gained centralised management with Azure Arc and added Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud.

Impact

Greggs manages a large and disparate IT landscape more easily than ever before, gaining visibility over interlinked systems and dependencies in minutes rather than days. It easily sets up patches and other maintenance across its estate, including Windows and Linux.
