This week we will be showcasing our apprentices as we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week here at CSG. Our apprentice Q&A today is with IT Technical Support Apprentice, Jack.

Name:

Jack Lawrence

Apprenticeship:

IT Technical Support Apprentice

Why did you apply for the CSG apprenticeship?

After reading the description it seemed like the kind of career that would fit me and I felt this apprenticeship was the right pathway into this line of work.

What does a normal day look like?

Checking the status of all backups in the morning, booking tickets for any that have failed, and emailing clients to notify them of their successful backups. Receiving deliveries, tagging them and logging them in the asset register. Helping in the workshop with preparation of new machines and machines in for repair by removing junk, running malware scans, checking for updates, installing various applications, setting the machine up on a domain etc. and handling basic calls.

Where do you see yourself in three years’ time?

As a fully-fledged engineer at CSG.
